Students of Faculty of Information Systems won high achievements in 2016 Entropy Academic Contest.
“Entropy – Data Mining”, held by John von Neumann Institute, is a contest to create a wholesome academic playground for students, graduate students, or researchers interested in data science to promote their professional competence and the ability to express their own creative thinkings. Extremely attractive prizes include the opportunity to receive a scholarship at Trinity College Dublin, top 100 best universities in the world, and a lot of exchange scholarships at prestigious schools in France, such as Eurecom or ECE.
Joining this contest, students of Faculty of Information Systems won high achievements over the rounds. Le Van Duyet, a third-year student, won Third Prize in the final round with a cash prize and a full scholarship for Master of the Data Science program at John von Neumann Institute. Nguyen Trung Quan, a fourth-year student, successfully completed the semi-final round.

The contest had many rounds, with focus on assessment of mathematics knowledge, economics and banking knowledge, data science skills, and other data science related subjects.
At the final round, contestants would have to present, answer, and debate with the judges their ideas of the “Final Round Project”.
