Summary of Professional Development Conference 2024 – FIS & IS Laboratory
From August 6 to August 8, 2024, the Faculty of Information Systems (FIS) and the Information Systems Laboratory (IS Lab) successfully organized a Professional Development Conference in Buon Ma Thuot City, Daklak Province.
As part of the 2024 Professional Development Conference, on August 7, 2024, FIS and IS Lab held specialized training sessions focused on tasks such as improving the training program after the ASIIN accreditation team officially visited in November 2023 and promoting scientific research activities – which are key tasks for the FIS and IS Lab in 2024.
Topic 1: “Proposing Activities to Improve the Training Program after ASIIN Accreditation” presented by Dr. Cao Thi Nhan, MSc. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, and MSc. Trinh Trong Tin
Topic 2: “Discussion on Improving the Organization of Practical Exams for the Database Module” presented by MSc. Duong Phi Long, Engineer Le Vo Dinh Kha, and Engineer Pham Nguyen Thanh Binh.
Topic 3: “Measures to Promote Scientific Research Activities at FIS and IS Lab” – Presented by Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh.
The training program was attended by Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thuan – Senior Lecturer and former Dean of FIS, who shared valuable experiences and constructive feedback for the FIS’s important tasks. The training was a success, helping lecturers, teaching assistants, and researchers of FIS and ISLab to better understand the processes of curriculum development, teaching implementation, enhancing professional expertise in teaching, accreditation processes, quality assurance, and scientific research activities.
In April 2024, The Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN) officially announced the accreditation of three programs at the Faculty of Information Systems, certifying them for quality assurance based on ASIIN standards. The accredited programs are:
- Bachelor’s Program in Information Systems,
- Bachelor’s Program in E-commerce,
- Master’s Program in Information Systems.
In 2024, the department will continue its efforts to improve educational quality and extend ASIIN accreditation until 2029.
