Today, at the University of Information Technology, the representatives of the Faculty of Information Systems and Shinhan Future’s Lab Project participated in a meeting in order to discuss over the strategies and plans of cooperation intended to take place in near future. The cooperation program aims to support the growth of start-ups community in Vietnam, as well as bringing more job opportunities to graduates Vietnamese offices of South Korean firms.
The Shihan Future’s Lab project was founded by Korea Shinhan Group to support of the potential start-ups in social contribution activities, contributing to the development of the Information Technology sector. Representative of the project of Shinhan Future’s Lab, Mr. Jung Woong Kim stated: “In South Korea, Shinhan Future’s Lab has achieved remarkable success with the active support, creating favorable conditions for a lot of start-ups in Information Technology sector. With the steady beginning, young start-ups have been rising strongly, contributing to the sustainable development of the economy. Shinhan Future’s Lab dedicates to support new graduates, the start-ups enterprises in Vietnam”.
Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thuan, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Systems, said: “Being a member this project is a testament of our commitment to training quality and support to students of the Faculty as well as the University. It is also an opportunity for Vietnamese start-ups community to sharpen skills by working with information technology experts from Korea”.
The project is expected to implement in Ho Chi Minh from November 2016, with supports from the Faculty of Information Systems, under the leadership of the University of Information Technology. The main stages include: preparing, mentoring programs (lectures, seminars and forums), demo day, creating opportunities for business cooperation between the Start-ups, mentor group and businesses in the field of Information Technology located in Korea and Vietnam.
The collaboration between Shinhan Future’s Lab and Faculty of Information Systems is expected to support the Vietnam potential start-ups to develop effectively. Thereby, the project does not only provide strong support to the start-ups community in particular, but will also be able to contribute to the development of society in general.
