On November 15 and 16, 2023, the Faculty of Information Systems – University of Information Technology VNU-HCM welcomed the visit and work of the Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN).
During this visit, the Faculty of Information Systems (FIS) conducted an official accreditation according to ASIIN standards for three training programs: Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Bachelor of Science in E-Commerce, and Master of Science in Information Systems. The Faculty of Information Systems is the first faculty of the UIT to participate in accreditation for its training programs according to ASIIN standards.
ASIIN is a reputable accreditation organization within the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). It conducts evaluations and recognitions for higher education institutions and programs at the levels of natural sciences, engineering, mathematics and statistics, computer science and information technology, science, and technology. ASIIN is renowned for its strict evaluation criteria and meticulous assessment processes; ASIIN certification is highly regarded in the academic community.
The two-day visit and work were conducted by a team of experts from ASIIN. The Accreditation Team were experts and scholars in the fields of Information Systems and E-Commerce.
The Accreditation Team consisted of five members:

2. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Frank, Chair of Information Systems and Enterprise Modeling, University of Duisburg – Essen, Germany

4. Mr. Thien Nguyen, Head of Software Development, SGH-Asia
5. Mr. Le Quoc Nam, Senior student at International University, VNU-HCM
This organization comprehensively evaluates the training programs in various aspects, including learning outcomes, curriculum, teaching staff, facilities, quality assurance, and connections between the university, students, and businesses. The goal of this visit was to provide the Accreditation Team with a comprehensive view of the activities, infrastructure, faculty, students, and academic environment of the FIS and the UIT, assessing the commitments of the FIS and the UIT to academic quality, innovation, and suitability to ensure that the FIS’s training programs meet the rigorous standards set by ASIIN.
During the two-day visit, the Accreditation Team participated in various activities, including meetings with UIT leaders, employers, teaching staff, students, and other stakeholders. They also visited classrooms, laboratories, research facilities, and other important areas to observe the facilities and resources of the UIT and the FIS.
The Faculty of Information Systems sincerely thanks the experts in the Accreditation Team for their visit and work at the UIT. Special thanks to the UIT leadership for creating favorable conditions for the FIS to successfully organize this visit and practical work. The FIS expresses gratitude to the departments, boards, faculties, professors, partners in the business community, alumni of graduate programs, former students, master students, and students who supported and participated in the interviews, contributing to the overall success of the visit and work.
The successful organization of the visit and work has increased expectations for the recognition of the Faculty of Information Systems – University of Information Technology, with the official report expected to be provided in February 2024.
